Strantin will provide complimentary maps for your building or campus in png or svg format. But if you would like to load your own maps, here are a few considerations:
System Status will monitor the following:
Strantin software requires licenses to connect the necessary hardware. We licenses systems by the quantity of cameras instead of by each camera’s MAC code. If a camera stops working and needs to be replaced, you can put a new camera in its place and without the need to reregister the camera.
Strantin uses the Linux Operating System with our software platform. We embed the operating system directly in the Strantin platform, eliminating costly OS licensing fees and patches. Providing an operating system with our software creates a resilient server appliance.
Strantin was intuitively designed to greatly reduce the need for extensive training. Strantin’s Easy Path walks you through the set up process to start using your surveillance system. The software is very intuitive and functional for all user levels.
Yes, with Strantin’s Site Navigator all sites can be managed through one seamless interface.
Yes, Strantin’s network is designed with a central server to access a detailed system health status. The server provides administrative access to total system performance.
No. All a user needs is the IP address of the Strantin server, their user ID and password. The user enters the IP address into the address bar of their browser, the browser will download and install a small Java app from the server, and then will prompt the user for their user ID and password. Once the user has done this, a desktop icon is created on their desktop. For future access, the user only has to double click on the desktop icon and enter their user ID and password.
Currently Strantin supports cameras from the following manufacturers: ACTi, Arecont Vision, Axis, D-Link, JVC, Panasonic, Pelco, Sony, Toshiba, and Zavio. Strantin is always working to support more cameras. Please check with your Strantin sales representative for specific models.
Strantin’s enterprise surveillance solution gives users the hardware to set up at each location and a server system to direct images and data to one location. Strantin’s Satellite Navigator design manages all your sites from a single client login.
The major advantages are image quality, scalability, and flexible infrastructure. IP solutions provide progressive scan images rather than interlaced images for more accurate monitoring and greatly reduced motion blur. IP solutions offer high-resolution (megapixel and multi megapixel) images that analog cannot. IP solutions are highly scalable (Strantin offers unlimited scalability). And unlike analog cameras which record images from each camera, IP solutions gather images from all the cameras on the network infrastructure. The data is combined over a single cable to the server for efficient monitoring.
Strantin provides diagnostic capability through the Strantin client so an authorized user can get a snapshot of all cameras on the system using Strantin’s camera check. Also, Strantin provides a system status page that provides up to the minute diagnostic data on each camera on the system.
DNA is an all-inclusive pricing model that includes: server, hard drives, 1 year service & support, and 8, 12, or 24 camera licenses. DNA does not allow for multiple maps or Navigator capability without the use of the Strantin Navigator. The Strantin Enterprise software is completely scalable with unlimited mapping and navigating capabilities. You must supply your own server and storage. Camera licenses are sold on a per camera basis.
Strantin utilizes on the edge technology. Strantin maximizes the capabilities and technologies for each make and model of camera. In simpler terms, Strantin software functions along with the hardware you select. You are choosing a surveillance system that combines Strantin with the hardware of your choice. Please contact Strantin for questions about specific functions.
Strantin does have the capability to use motion detection recording. First select a camera that has the capability to record motion, then Strantin can utilize that technology to set up motion detection recording. However, Strantin does not record video strictly using motion. To ensure that vital video does not go unrecorded and to maintain a healthy system status in the diagnostics, Strantin is designed to record at least at the minimum frame rate at all times. Strantin has the ability to record at a higher frame rate at the moment that motion is detected for archival review.
Yes. Strantin has the ability to tie into your LDAP directories.
Strantin can use many different file types but PDF is preferable. Strantin then will convert the file into a PNG vector graphic. Vector based graphics can more easily be resized for clear viewing. The reason that Strantin uses the PNG file is that it can to load quickly, resize easily, and transfer across the web easily.
Strantin has a set price instead of modular pricing scale. All functionality is inclusive and ALL software is Enterprise grade. No base-licensing fee, no add-on. Strantin is sold on a single license basis.
